We now have pontton boats available to guests of Hess Lake Rentals, Only! We also have 2 motorized fishing boats avaialable for fishing Hess Lake or the Muskegon Riiver, again this is for guests of Hess Lake Rentals.
Wisner Canoes rents canoes, tubes, rafts and river boats for non-guests.
Hess Lake Vacation Rentals, located in Newaygo, currently offers one 12 foot pontoon boat for you (guests) to rent. A pontoon boat is a great way to enjoy Hess Lake. See the descriptions below to find out which will work best for you.

Pontoon boat rates: (not including gasoline expense)
Daily rates – Mon, Tues, Wed = $79 and Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun $99
Weekly rate discount = $500
Fishing jon boat w/ motor rates: $49 per day
We will add more pontoons based on demand, please call with your requests.
RENTAL POLICIES:
Above rentals include 1st tank of gasoline. (we reserve the right to place a fuel surcharge at any time)
$200 damage deposit is required for all pontoon rentals.
Weekly rentals are given preference over daily rentals.
Price includes PFD's (personal floatation devices)
Watercraft Rental Policy:
Because of their popularity, all Pontoons may only be reserved in advance for full week reservations from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. Please call to check availability before reserving them. Call– 616-638-9384. We will only rent to persons 21 years of age or older and a valid drivers license is required. Alcohol prohibited!
Due to scheduling conflicts, it is possible that Fri-Fri cabin reservations may not get their reserved pontoons or boats until Saturday morning. Sorry, no rate credit will be given.
Hess Lake Rentals reserves the right to substitute any pontoon for another due to maintenance or scheduling issues. No rate credit will be given.
A watercraft deposit is required when making reservations. If you are bringing your own boat or pontoon, please help us determine the proper dock slip length and water depth requirements by telling us the type and length of your watercraft. All watercraft rentals are provided with lights for night-time operation and as such, night-time operation is prohibited by Hess Lake Rentals (Dusk) and lake ordinances. You will be fiscally responsible for any violation of this policy and lake ordinances.
You must agree to pay, with credit card or with bank certified check, for any and all damage caused by you during your rental agreement. Your signature stating this will be required on a rental agreement prior to leaving the dock.
You must agree to pay, on credit card, full day rental fees for any days the watercraft is out of service due to damage caused by you during your rental agreement. Your signature stating this will be required on a rental agreement prior to leaving the dock. No rate credit will be given for weather-related use limitations of watercraft rentals during your stay.
Michigan State Law requires one life jacket per person onboard every watercraft. Life Jackets are provided at no additional charge. A seat cushion flotation device is also required onboard. You will be fiscally responsible for any life jacket violations you incur.
Seat cushions are not legal in lieu of life jackets. Gas and Oil is not included in boat/motor or pontoon rentals. Dockside electricity is available for battery charging.
