Sherri, I just wanted to let you and Rachel know that we had a wonderful time at the Gray Goose.  It was a perfect spot to be in for the 4th of July parade and fireworks.  Even though the weather wouldn't seem to cooperate with us, the kids still told us that they had a great time.

My friend and I stayed at the Poco Casa during the late part of February 2009.  It is such a nice, peaceful vacation rental.  I remember the cold mornings, with the sun coming up over Hess Lake. The fog rising from the ice glistening lake, and swirling softly around the trees that surround the lake.  Sometimes the ice would grumble loudly, like a herd of wild horses coming across the entire lake.  It wouldn't be long before spring would hear the grumble of Hess Lake, even though the ice was still about 10 inches deep.  After ice fishing, we'd head for town for a nice breakfast.  Then it was off to the friendly sport shop to buy bait and talk of the fish that "got away,"  and the ones that were actually caught.  One day we stopped in the older part of Newaygo for a specialty coffee.  When the weather was just a bit too harsh, we'd make popcorn or a nice dinner in the furnished Poco Casa.  The view from the upstairs bedroom window was exquisite, as was the view from the entire first floor.  Our host, Sherri, was always more than helpful with our questions.  I can't wait to return to Newaygo, any time of the year.

I had a very enjoyable time both at the Hess Lake Charmer cottage and on the trip with Tim Milan. We did catch some fish – more Walleye than Steelhead - I hated to throw the Walleye back but had to. I brought 4 nice Steelheads home so was very happy. One thing about Tim is that you always get your money’s worth. We fished for 10 hours on Monday and about 9 on Tuesday (actual fishing time) – only because I had a 5 hour drive home. The cottage was great – I wish I had had a little more time to spend at the lake, maybe doing some lake fishing, but will leave that for another time. I hope I cleaned everything up well enough? I may be back in September for Salmon and certainly next spring for Steelhead. Thanks again, and feel free to use my name as a reference for your property. My wife and I usually vacation in early October

Thank you for letting us rent the Buckeye Breeze.  We absolutely loved it!    We enjoyed taking walks around the lake and the spectacular fall colors.  We also enjoyed eating at Smugglers Cove Restaurant – great food.  Thank you for your great hospitality and the ice cream scooper.  We definitely plan to stay again next fall.

The Charmer was great, relaxing and is indeed a “Charmer”.  The cottage is located on a channel on Hess Lake and was very clean and comfortable.  The staff was very friendly.  This was the perfect place to watch birds.  We only booked for one night, but would have liked to stay longer.
